How to Stand Tall When Your Confidence Is at Its Lowest

You are looking back through old photos from a day out, and you spot yourself in the middle of the group, except you are curled slightly inward, shoulders forward, chin dropped, somehow smaller than everyone beside you. Nobody asked you to shrink, you do not remember choosing to stand that way, and yet there you are, taking up less room than the people around you, and it sits heavier than you expected it to.
You could blame the desk, or the long days, or the phone that keeps pulling your head down, and some of that is true, but a quieter part of you already senses that the way you are holding your body has started to match the way you feel about yourself, so the real question is not how to fix your back, it is what your posture has been quietly saying about what you think you deserve.
What finally changed it for me caught me completely off guard, and it was far harder to hear than anything my mum ever said.
